I'm a Guam and Hawaiʻi licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, a proud mom of five, and the founder of Waves & Words Speech Co.

My family and I have been blessed to call both Guam and Hawaiʻi home. One of our children was even born on Maui, a place that will always hold a special place in our hearts. Those experiences have shaped the way I see family, community, and the importance of building meaningful relationships wherever we are.

Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working alongside children with a wide variety of communication needs in both educational and clinical settings. I've partnered with families, teachers, physicians, and other professionals, but the most important lesson I've learned didn't come from a textbook or a classroom.

It came from listening to parents.

Again and again, I met families who were doing everything they could for their children but still felt overwhelmed. They had questions no one had taken the time to answer. They were handed reports filled with unfamiliar terminology, faced long waitlists, or simply weren't sure what their next step should be.

That's why I created Waves & Words.

I wanted to build a practice where families feel welcomed from the moment they walk through the door. A place where questions are encouraged, conversations aren't rushed, and every recommendation is tailored to the child sitting in front of me.

Whether we're meeting for a comprehensive evaluation or a parent consultation, my hope is that you'll leave with more than information. I want you to leave with clarity, confidence, and a plan that makes sense for your child and your family.

My approach is rooted in evidence-informed practice while remaining playful, child centered, and responsive to each child's unique strengths. I believe children learn best when they feel safe, connected, and genuinely enjoy the people around them. Play isn't just something we do during our sessions. It's one of the most meaningful ways children learn to communicate.

As a mother myself, I also know that communication doesn't stop when a child leaves the clinic. Some of the most meaningful moments happen around the dinner table, during bedtime stories, on family walks, and in everyday conversations. That's why empowering parents is just as important to me as working directly with children.

Serving families throughout Guam, while also supporting families in Hawaiʻi through consultation services, is truly an honor. Every family has a unique story, and I feel privileged each time someone trusts me to become a small part of it.
